Mr Ong Teck Soon

Mr Ong Teck Soon the current Chief Executive Officer of SESAMi (Singapore) Pte Ltd and CEO for Abecha Pte Ltd has been in the B2B & G2B e-Commerce industry for more than 10 years.  In Dec 2002, while he was still serving as one of the Senior Directors in SESAMi Inc, he led the Management Buyout to buy over the entire SESAMi group of companies from its former shareholders including Singtel, UOB, Jardine Matheson, iCable, Swire Pacific, Eastman Chemical, Sunevsion, New World Enterprises, WI Harper Group and Commerce One.

While serving as one of the Board of Directors in a JTC subsidiaries i.e. Abecha Pte Ltd which was also a Joint Venture with SESAMi (Holding) Pte Ltd and Microsoft Singapore Pte Ltd, he successfully led another initiative to acquire the entire stack of JTC's majority share in Abecha Pte Ltd in July 2004. Subsequently in Nov 2005, he invited Intraco Ltd to invest together with Microsoft Singapore, to become minority shareholders in Abecha Pte Ltd.

Today, the SESAMi group of companies has grown since its inception in Sep 1999 to be a power house in providing trusted internet G2B and B2B business transactions. SESAMi's eHub currently serves more than 10,000 Singapore based and 30,000 overseas online business communities. The annual E-Procurement through the SESAMi ehub is well above S$3.5 Bn. The key clients include Singtel, Singapore Airlines, Singapore Refining Companies, Singapore Airport Terminal Services, ST Engineering Group, SBSTransit, SMRT, JTC, DSTA and other Singapore Government Agencies.

Prior to joining SESAMi, he began his career as a commissioned officer in the Singapore Armed Forces and attained his BSc in Engineering (Summa cum laude) from Southern Illinois University, USA. Currently holding the rank of LTC(NS), he had held several command and staff positions at the Ministry of Defence. After leaving the Army in 1995, he joined ICI Plc. and served several positions including Regional Marketing Manager at National Starch & Chemical (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Chief Representative of ICI in Vietnam, Managing Director of Myanmar ICI, and Regional Training & Development Manager for ICI Asia Pacific Region.
